FIT & LIMO - As above so below
The serpent unrolls again and invites you to taste of the rich harvest of Fit & Limo's acid folk pastures. On "As above so below" Fit & Limo's acid/traditional/medieval folk rooted sound spectrum takes on new hues by transferring the emphasis on extended jam-like improvisations, playful freeform mantras, and tibetan bell-tingling & mooing. Increase use of electric guitar and psychedelic effects inspire a summer-of-love feel. Trancelike tribalistic dances shift into relaxed jazz-touched passages. Sounds from the eastern shore grace timeless psychedelic pop harmonies. Tibetan bell bowls and trumpet announce acid chamber songs of upsetting beauty or extensive (Greatful Dead influenced) mesmerizing improv jams. Freeform meanderings create an open scene and lead to a peaceful state of mind/nature/culture.Inspiration taken from Jerry Garcia, Stan Owsley, the sound of wind, grasshoppers and blackbirds. Male/female duo Fit & Limo are based in Altdorf (Bavaria, Germany). For the first time in years they are supported by friends on cello, trumpet and vocals. Cover art by the SG Artwork & Ruin Department is based on drawings by Franz Bauer.

FIT & LIMO - Astralis
New studies on strange folk conducted by the Franconian institute of applied psychedelic sciences have resulted in a fine album entitled Astralis. 18 new refined psychedelic folk songs, which remind of Fit & Limo's mid-90ies releases, but also include progressive/wyrd/mystic folk elements of their more recent work. British folk of traditional and late 60ies/early 70ies style is combined with 60ies US flower power harmonies/West Coast acid rock and Fit & Limo's own special brand of Kraut/space folk playfulness. Influences of Incredible String Band and Pearls Before Swine are more distinct again; Beau Brummels, Beatles, Witthüser & Westrup come to mind, as well. Included are three excellent versions of British traditional songs based on recordings by Shirley & Dolly Collins ("The moon shines bright", "Down in yon forest", "The snow it melts the soonest") and a cover of Alex Campbell's "Been on the road so long".

FIT & LIMO - Ginnistan
3rd album for SG by Bavarian folk/psych/space/improv duo. At the same time this is their first concept album. They start out with the playful exotic acid folk style they have come to known for, but it is more electric and enriched with pop harmonies. Then songs expand into cosmic folk and progressive artful space sounds, incorporating Stefan Lienemann's experience with his solo project "Discolor". Finally Fit & Limo light out for a new territory: the 21-min. hypnotic & mesmerizing "magnus opus" Ginnistan, a free improvisation session exploring the boundaries of their Sun Ra influences and 70's Krautrock improvisation, marks a new phase of development and reaches places where space & time, ideology & religion are no longer relevant. Ginnistan is a magic and phantastic dreamland. Fit & Limo found their Ginnistan in Monte Verita, Switzerland, a place where anarchists, poets, artists, freethinkers lived in the 19th century and later on gathering place of hippies in the 70's.

FIT & LIMO - Terra Incognita
4th album for SG by Bavarian folk/psych/space/improv duo takes you on a voyage to an adventurous world of sound. Fit&Limo's trademark acid folk inspired by Incredible String Band and Pearls Before Swine is still there, but this time influences of the 70's progressive Krautfolk school are more present and the collaboration with other musicians adds new colours. On board the imaginary "Friendship" Fit&Limo are accompanied by kindred spirits: Bernd Witthüser, Miriam Goldberg & Jeffrey Alexander (Black Forest/Black Sea, Iditarod), Timothy Renner (Stone Breath, Spectral Light, Mourning Cloak), Steffi & Peter Wolf. The collaboration with Bernd Witthüser, one half of legendary German 70's cosmic folk duo Witthüser Westrup, almost marks a historic event, documented by a new version of their classic "Lasst uns auf die Reise gehn": the old Krautfolk school meets the folk adepts of the 21st century. The songs recorded with Miriam Goldberg & Jeffrey Alexander (from Providence, USA) veer towards psychedelic/mystic free folk and create a meditative, pastoral atmosphere. The collaboration with Timothy Renner (from Pennsylvania, USA) results in two fine tracks of gothic chamber folk, distinguished by Timothy's banjo and guitar play. With "Terra Incognita" Fit&Limo have again set foot on new shores and unfold the treasures discovered. Cover artwork by the SG Art Department combines Shackleton's antarctic expedition with Ivan Bilibin's fairytale world.

FIT & LIMO - The Serpent Unrolled
Three years have passed since Fit & Limo's last real album ("Autre Monde", 1995), now the public is permitted another earful of their sound alchemy. The serpent has unrolled and the muses are smiling. Numerous well-known and strange instruments (new ones like church organ, Veeh-harp and xylophone complement the usual Fit & Limo suspects, such as violin, autoharp, sitar, mandolin, glockenspiel, piano, clay drums, bongos etc.) pair up with nursery rhymes and cryptic messages. Beyond the "traumtür" lies a medieval fairytale world of cranes and toads, basilisks and lions, spirals and stones, dew and cauldrons. A labyrinth of sounds, noises, and harmonies unfolds. Fit & Limo playfully celebrate their unique mystic folk incorporating elements of American acid/Middle Eastern/Celtic/British (Incredible String Band, Caedmon) folk on the way to the third millennium. Beside twelve originals "The Serpent Unrolled" contains two cover versions: Grateful Dead's "Dark Star" and "Images of April" by Tom Rapp / Pearls Before Swine (Fit & Limo already covered a PBS song, "Surrealist Waltz," for the Tom Rapp tribute compilation "For the dead in space"). Male/female duo Limo & Mrs. Fit are based in Altdorf (Bavaria, Germany). Stefan "Limo" Lienemann's (ex-Shiny Gnomes) current solo-project is the experimental/Kraut/space/drone/folk band Discolor, he also recently collaborated with "Cosmic Gardener" Riff on the "Fim Froil" album.
